The Borussia Dortmund club officials were torn in the aftermath of the 2-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach: on the one hand, there was palpable disappointment at missing out on the title; on the other, they were delighted with the third-best season in the club's history. They also spoke about objectives for the future.

"We did our job today," said Lucien Favre at the post-match press conference. The Swiss tactician felt it was a "deserved victory", adding: "We can be very satisfied with this season, even if we're a tad disappointed at the moment."

Borussia Dortmund shifted through the gears after the interval and really settled into their rhythm in the second period. All in all, they dominated the statistics as they claimed a deserved 2-0 win in Mönchengladbach, with more shots (12-7), possession (70 percent) and the better tackle win rate (57 percent).
